Janet MacEachern

Grande Prairie

Ms. Janet MacEachern has been working for the City of Grande Prairie since 2022, in the role of Chief of Staff and Acting Chief Economic Development Officer.

Her previous employment includes working for the Government of Alberta for over three years, as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Labour and Immigration (May 2019 – February 2021), Director of Human Resources at the Premier’s office (February 2021 – August 2021) and most recently as Deputy Chief of Staff to Premier Jason Kenney prior to joining the City of Grande Prairie.

Prior to joining the Government of Alberta, Janet worked for the Worker’s Compensation Board of Alberta for over 21 years in numerous leadership roles including as Manager of Legislative Services, Manager of the Office of Appeals Advisors and as a Service Manager with their rehabilitation center, Millard Health. 

Ms. MacEachern holds a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science/Economics) degree from St. Francis Xavier University, Diploma in Disability Management from Dalhousie University, Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Royal Roads University, Certificate in Tribunal Administrative Justice from the Foundation of Administrative Justice, Essentials of Ombuds Certification from Osgoode Law Professional Development, and a Certificate in Indigenous Canada from the University of Alberta.
