As a lifelong resident of northern Alberta, Cody understands the important role the North plays in Alberta’s economy – with its abundant resources, people and agriculture – and brings a long history of working to develop the North to his role on NADC. He is a partner in a family-run business founded 54 years ago and has previously served one year as president and four years as a member of the Grande Prairie and District Chamber of Commerce. As a current member of the Community Futures Grande Prairie and Region Board he particularly enjoys the role he plays in helping entrepreneurs access the capital they need to get started, innovate and grow. His family business also provides job-shadowing experiences for students, preparing the next generation of promising Albertans to contribute to the province’s economic growth. In delivering the NADC’s mandate, Cody brings his passion for social and economic development and his belief that, more now than ever, Albertans and Northerners cannot develop in isolation of each other. Cody is married with two children.
